October 2024 Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar
Our next schedule for the Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Care Seminar will be on October 19, 2024, Saturday, from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. This will be located at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Baltimore - BWI Airport North in Linthicum Heights, MD.
This is an educational opportunity designed to provide all healthcare professionals (CNAs, activity staff, managers, and more) with an overview of best practices for caring for people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The seminar is led by Lisa Clerman, CTRS, CDP, CVW, CADDCT, CDCM, a certified Recreation Therapist with 30 years of experience, and covers topics such as creating a positive environment, communication strategies, understanding normal aging versus Alzheimer's, and more.
Through attending this program, healthcare professionals will be better equipped to provide excellent care while respecting the dignity of those they care for. Additionally, this training is the first step towards becoming a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), a valuable credential for professionals in this field.

June/September 2024 MEPAP Course Announcement:
We are excited to announce that Ms. Alsandria Miller, MA, ACC/EDU, AC-BC, CDP, a licensed instructor with the NCCAP, will be offering the standardized MEPAP course starting in June 2024.
Course Schedule:
- APC (MEPAP Section 1): From June 1 to September 8, 2024. Classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST.
- ADC (MEPAP Section 2): From September 20 to December 8, 2024. Classes will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST, with breaks on October 18-20 and November 22-24, 2024.
